As part of the Southern Corridor Improvements Project, SH1 will be closed southbound between Manukau Interchange and Takanini Interchange from 8pm Saturday 1 April to 8am Sunday 2 April.
The motorway will be closed to connect the new sections of the Takanini offramp to the existing southbound bridge in what is commonly referred to as a "bridge stitch".
It is expected to take approximately 12 hours for the concrete to be poured and gain sufficient strength, and vibrations from passing vehicles can impact on this process.
During this time there will be signposted detours in place (see attached map).
If it rains, work will be postponed until the next available dry night.
