As part of the Southern Corridor
Improvements project, the design of the Takanini northbound on-ramp has changed
from the initial diamond ramp design to a loop ramp design. Construction of the
new northbound on-ramp commenced in April 2017 and upon completion, it will
offer a higher capacity than the current layout.
