As part of the Southern Corridor Improvements Project,
there will be lane changes on Great South Road westbound at the Takanini
Interchange. Westbound lanes will be narrowed and a reduced speed limit of
50kph will be in place after the Takanini southbound on-ramp to the
Takanini northbound on-ramp.
Work will take place on the nights of Wednesday 5 April to Thursday 6 April between the hours of 9pm to 5am. The temporary traffic switch will be in place from the morning of Thursday 6 April for approximately 18 months. This will establish a safe work zone and enable works to begin on the new Takanini northbound on-ramp.
If conditions are too wet, work will be postponed for the next available dry night.
You can find out more from the traffic briefing attached. Also attached is a graphic of the lane changes.
