Lane Changes South Bound at Takanini from Monday 6 March
As part of the Southern Corridor Improvements Project, there will be further lane changes on SH1 southbound just before the Takanini Interchange. From Monday 6th March, lane one (the slow lane) will be separated from lane two to create a safe work area in between the lanes for the construction team to widen the motorway. The narrowed lanes and 80kph speed limit remain in place.
The lane changes will take place overnight under a full southbound motorway closure between the Manukau Interchange and Takanini Interchange from 10pm on Sunday 5th March, reopening 5am on Monday 6th March. If it rains, work will be postponed until the next available dry night. These changes will be in place for approximately 5 weeks.
You can find out more from the traffic briefing attached. Also attached is a graphic of the lane changes and a detour map for overnight closures.
